The seven sins of worry

1) When you board a plane, you do not doubt that it will take you to the distination. God created the whole universe, yet you often worry about minor things or what might happen to your body (unless you misuse it) which is also created by him after His own image.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psalm 8: 3-4

"Are not two sparrows sold for one farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father: but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows" Matthew 10: 29-31

2) There are so many dangers around us, yet you only concentrate on one or two aspects. When you worry, you are guilty of favourism.

3) How do you know the mind of God? Yet you worried as if God will definitely make it happen. When you worry, you are guilty of becoming your own God.

6For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him?1 Corinthians 2

4) When you worry, you are guilty of not trusting God to bring you out of immediate or impending adversities.

And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea: and there was a great calm. Matthew 8:22-26

5) God does not favour the faint-hearted.

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.2 Timothy 1
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11

6) When you worry, you are limiting the power ofGod.
39Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

40Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?John 11

7) When you worry, you make the matter worse.

And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto his stature? Matthew 7:27

22A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.Proverbs 17

We worried ourselves to sickness

God created the universe, which is functioning so orderly for millions of years.
Why are we worry that what may become to our bodies, if we do not misuse them ?
Take great care of our bodies, leave the rest to God.
If we worry, we do not have faith that God can take care of His own creation.
Very often, it is us who worried ourselves to sickness.

But if God doth clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?Matthew 6:30
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Hebrews 11
